Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur was founded in **1976** and has since grown into one of the leading institutions of higher education in Pakistan. The university provides unique opportunities to students across a wide range of academic disciplines, including Natural Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts & Languages, Education, Management Sciences, and Law. It holds the distinction of being the only university in Upper Sindh that caters comprehensively to the academic needs of the region in such diverse fields.
Today, Shah Abdul Latif University is recognized as one of the most developed universities in Pakistan. It boasts a dedicated academic staff of over 234 well-qualified faculty members working across 29 departments. A significant number of these faculty members are young and foreign qualified, contributing to a dynamic and forward-thinking academic environment. Teaching at the university is supported by modern, state-of-the-art audio-visual tools and methodologies designed to align with market demands. Adding to its appeal, the university is surrounded by culturally and historically significant sites, such as the archaeological wonders of Mohenjo Daro and Kot Diji, the scenic Rohri Hills, the Achro Desert, and important religious shrines like Sadhu Bella and the resting place of the Sufi poet Sachal Sarmast.
